I'm Katelyn, a wedding & portrait photographer capturing love stories with timeless joy & elegance
I’m a wedding & portrait photographer based in Hickory, NC. Ever since I was a child, something about beauty and depth captivated me. I started with pictures of nature, but soon realized that an even more exquisite beauty lay in the story of people's lives. In college I learned how to communicate meaningful stories through imagery. I've had the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world and experience other people's joys, first through genuine relationships, and then through my camera.
Telling your story is my delight. And serving you is my main priority. The merriest moments of your life are worth being captured with timeless elegance and grace. I value real friendships, and I can't wait to laugh together until our cheeks hurt! I believe God's kindness deserves to be celebrated and remembered for the rest of your life.

Finding a photographer is one of the most important decisions about your wedding. You're looking for someone who can be more than just "the photographer." You're looking for a friend. Someone you have a genuine connection with. Someone you trust to capture your biggest moments. That's why it would be my joy to serve you and get to know you. I want to hear your story and listen to what matters most to you. We'll meet over lattes, or a phone/video chat if you're further away. I'll walk you through what I can offer to you, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions & tell me how I can serve you best. When you reserve your date, we can begin officially planning! If details stress you out, don't worry. Something about organization and planning thrills me!
Engagement sessions are the perfect way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera; plus, we'll have so much fun laughing and getting to know each other more in the process. I'll also help craft a custom timeline for your wedding day so that we can plan for what is most important to you. I want everything leading up to your wedding day to be as seamless as is humanly possible, and I'm sure by the end we'll be great friends! You'll receive your high resolution photos in an online gallery where you can download and purchase prints. And since your photos deserve to be tangibly cherished for generations to come, I offer custom heirloom albums. I believe engagement sessions play such a key role in our friendship. That’s why I offer them as a complimentary gift to you in every wedding collection. An Engagement Session gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with me, and I'm confident that by the end, you'll be experts in front of the camera! When your wedding day comes around you won't have to stress about feeling awkward or uncertain.
This is such a your chance to dress up, have some fun, and remember why you fell in love in the first place! Whether you're using the images from your session for Save the Dates, to display at bridal showers, or simply as keepsakes, engagement sessions are the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of the rest of your lives together.

I have a tested system that leads to joyful & elegant images every time. I will guide you through the ENTIRE posing process so you'll always feel confident you know what to do. And I'll be sure to capture those sweet in-between moments too: the giggle before the kiss, the way he looks at you when you twirl, and everything in between.

How do I reserve my date?
When you're ready to secure you're date, the next step is signing a contract and paying a $500 non-refundable retainer. Once that's signed and I've received your payment, it's official! I can't wait to be part of your sweet day!
